Cooking Directions

SOAKING & COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Overnight Soak (Recommended): Rinse 1 cup of Red Beans. Cover with 3 to 4 inches of water. Soak for 8 to 12 hours.

Quick Soak: Boil 1 cup beans in water for 10 min. Remove from heat, cover, and soak 1 hour. Drain & Rinse.

STOVE TOP

Use 3 to 4 cups of water or stock per 1 cup Red Beans. Bring to a boil 10 to 15 min., then simmer partially covered until tender.

Soaked beans: Simmer 45 to 90 min.

Unsoaked beans: Simmer 2 to 3 hours.

Tip: Add water as needed during cooking.

INSTANT POT

Use 2 to 3 cups of liquid per 1 cup of Red Beans. Do not fill over halfway.

Soaked beans: High pressure 10 to 15 min.

Unsoaked beans: High pressure 15 to 30 min.

Natural pressure release at least 20 min.
