Golden Rice Pilaf

Our comforting Golden Rice Pilaf is great for anytime of the year and for every occasion. Simple and elegant, it's perfect to pair with roasted Chicken or smoked Pork Chops.

Made with Ralston Family Farms Golden Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup uncooked Ralston Family Farms Golden Rice
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2/3 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrot
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
  • 1/2 tsp minced fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp chopped fresh thyme
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil. Once water is boiling, add rice, cover, and reduce to simmer. Simmer for 15 minutes without removing the lid. Let the pot of rice sit, covered, for 5-10 minutes.
  2. While the rice is cooking, in large non-stick skillet, heat oil and add onion, celery, and carrot. Saute over medium-high heat until vegetables are soft and onions are translucent. 
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the herbs. 
  4. Add vegetable mixture to cooked rice, fluff with a fork, and serve immediately.
